My name is Andi McNair and I teach Gifted and Talented students at Bosqueville Elementary. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years and we have 3 beautiful children. I teach in the same small district that my husband and I attended in high school. We love living in a small community in which everyone knows each other and takes care of one another.
I have been a teacher for 14 years, teaching 4th/5th grade math for 10 years before moving into gifted education. As a parent of gifted children, I realize the importance of advocating for gifted education. I feel that every student deserves a meaningful learning experience and as teachers, it is our job to provide them with this.
I enjoy speaking and sharing with other educators. I am a connected educator that learns most of what goes on in my classroom from my PLN (personal learning network). I have spoken at the TAGT (Texas Association for Gifted and Talented) Conference for the last two years and have also presented at TASB (Texas Association of School Boards).
I am passionate about using technology in the classroom and am just beginning to explore innovative classrooms. I believe that the students that we are educating today are unique and we must be creative in our teaching strategies. I love using tools like Twitter and Edmodo to meet and share with other educators like myself. I absolutely love what I do and believe that education is on the verge of a revolution. I am excited to be an educator during this time and can't wait to see what the future holds!
